Court Operations with Effect from March 14, 2022

The Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago would like to inform the public that from Monday, March 14, 2022, the following Court Operations will come into effect in keeping with the Judiciary’s Practice Direction No. 20 of March 11, 2022:
Court Hearings
Judges and judicial officers may hold virtual, in-person or hybrid hearings depending on what is required in the interest of justice. Witnesses appearing virtually may use any Judiciary Virtual Access Customer Centres (VACCs) once the witness can be accommodated at the scheduled time.
Jury trials will resume. Jurors must be socially distanced in the courtroom or in deliberation. No jurors will be made to sit shoulder to shoulder with any other person. Jurors who are exposed to a COVID-19 positive person or who feel unwell must inform the Judge and the Registrar and Marshal immediately.
Prisoners will continue to appear virtually until further notice.
Filing by Electronic Means
All filing will be done by electronic means through e-filing portals. Self-represented litigants who do not have access to the internet or internet-enabled devices may do so using Judiciary kiosks at certain Court Buildings or at VACCs.
Documents including grants of Probate will continue to be sent to court customers electronically.
Payments will continue to be received electronically via the Judiciary’s payment portals.
All other court services will be by appointment only.
