The Honourable Mr. Justice Moosai, JA
Mr. Justice Moosai was called to the bar in 1981, after obtaining Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine in 1979 followed by the Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School.
After spending more than 16 years in private practice, Justice Moosai was appointed as a temporary judge from September 15, 1997, six months before being confirmed as a Puisne Judge of the High Court on March 1, 1998. During his career, Mr. Justice Moosai served on the Adoption Board of Trinidad & Tobago and currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee seeing to the introduction of the Drug Treatment Court.
Following a tenure of more than 15 years as a Puisne Judge of the High Court, Justice Moosai was appointed Justice of Appeal on 16th September, 2013
Well-known as a former national cricketer, Justice Moosai captained teams at St. Mary’s College and the Tunapuna Hindu Primary School during his early years. He was a member of the Under-19 and Senior National Teams, as well as Captain of the Wwest Indies Lawyer’s Cricket team undertaking tours in India and the United Kingdom in that capacity. He remains a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board.
