Chief Judges & Chief Justices
Trinidad and Tobago was captured by the British in 1797 and the first Chief Judge was appointed in that same year. Trinidad and Tobago were united, by a Royal Order in Council, with effect from 1st January, 1889. The office then became the Chief Justice of Trinidad and Tobago. The first Chief Justice for Tobago was appointed in 1794.
