STATUS UPDATE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE

Having undergone emergency surgery, the Acting Chief Justice Wendell Kangaloo remains in critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex following a vehicular accident early this morning. Two security officers, Corporal Terrence Fortune and Constable Marvin Caesar, are also being treated at the institution.

Their injuries are less serious. The accident occurred on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the Orange Grove area and resulted in four fatalities. The other vehicle reportedly crossed the median of the Highway and crashed into Justice Kangaloo's vehicle which was heading east.

Justice Kangaloo has been acting as Chief Justice in the absence of Justice Ivor Archie who returns to the country later today.
