Theme for 2010 – 2011

The theme for 2010 – 2011 is:
“TECHNOLOGY AND ITS IMPACT ON JUDGING AND THE JUDICIARY"

The TTJEI intends to focus on this area at our two residential Continuing Education Seminars for judges and judicial officers in 2011. It is also the intention of the TTJEI to launch a secure online discussion board for our high court judges in 2011. This is to be a pilot project, intended to facilitate a collaborative spirit within the Judiciary, and if successful, will eventually be expanded to include other judicial officers.

The overall hope of this initiative is to encourage judges and judicial officers to understand and fully utilize the technological “tools” available that can assist in the practical areas of judging. It is also hoped as well that the use of technologies can effectively facilitate opportunities for interaction in new ways among judges and judicial officers.

In keeping with this thrust the TTJEI continues as well to use video conferencing to conduct its business and to deliver training workshops.
