Hearing Rooms

From adversarial to conciliatory, Hearing Rooms are quite unlike the traditional courtrooms. The design and layout of the courtrooms is not as intimidating as traditional courtrooms. Judicial Officers no longer sit in elevated positions but sit around an oval table at the same level as customers, which afford them the opportunity to speak directly to parties. This setting creates an atmosphere in which greater levels of discussion can take place. The design also creates a level of intimacy and privacy in parties feeling empowered.

They also come away with a sense that this Court understands the need for confidentiality in the hearing of their matter and a sense that they have been heard.
