The Judiciary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, headed by the Chief Justice, comprises the Supreme Court of Judicature and the Magistracy. The Judiciary is the third arm of the State, established by the Constitution to operate independently from the Executive as a forum for the resolution of legal disputes.

Court Customer Relations Representative

The Judiciary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Court Customer Relations Representative, on contract, for a period of three (3) years in its Court Protocol and Information Unit (CPIU). The CPIU provides protocol and facilitatory services to Judges, Judicial Officers and visitors to and guests of the court and also furthers a culture of service throughout the Judiciary. The Unit's activities support the creation of a more understandable, accessible and user-friendly Judicial System through stakeholder engagement and public education and information strategies.

Job Summary

The Court Customer Relations Representative will provide information/assistance to members of the public, Attorneys- at -Law, litigants and other users of the Court. This includes processing requests and disseminating information on the status of Court matters, collecting and conducting customer surveys and preparing monthly status reports.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of the location and functions of the various arms of the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago;
  • Knowledge of the operations of Court Registries;
  • Knowledge of procedures as they relate to the case flow management methods;
  • Knowledge of the JEMS software;
  • Skills in Information Technology;
  • Ability to identify legal and other related documents;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships; and
  • Ability to interact with litigants with sensitivity and confidentiality.

Minimum Training and Experience

  • Five (5) GCE/ CXC O Level subjects including English Language;
  • Successful completion of the orientation to Court Processes Course will be an asset;
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the court system;
  • Must be computer literate and;
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
