The Judiciary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, headed by the Chief Justice, comprises the Supreme Court of Judicature and the Magistracy. The Judiciary is the third arm of the State, established by the Constitution to operate independently from the Executive as a forum for the resolution of legal disputes.

Assistant Court Security Officers

Job Summary

 The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining security standards; managing the performance, deportment, appearance and conduct of officers under his/her charge; assisting with the day to day supervision and administration of security matters as directed; driving and providing personal protection when necessary; monitoring CCTV systems and compiling the appropriate records, conducting investigations when necessary; documenting and reporting all security matters occurring during his/her shift.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical training and experience in a highly technological Security Monitoring and surveillance environment;
  • A thorough understanding of investigative processes;
  • Good sense of observation and awareness;
  • Very good oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to concentrate and monitor video systems over extended periods;
  • Teamwork and team leadership skills;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to take instructions and to effectively carry out instructions to completion;
  • Creative-thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and security related software and computer operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 CXC/GCE passes including Mathematics and English;
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in the protective services or a recognized security establishment;
  • Certified Security Supervisor (CSS) designation would be an asset;
  • Persons possessing an appropriate combination of qualifications, training and experience will also be considered;
  • Defensive Driving Certificate will be an asset.
