The Judiciary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, headed by the Chief Justice, comprises the Supreme Court of Judicature and the Magistracy. The Judiciary is the third arm of the State, established by the Constitution to operate independently from the Executive as a forum for the resolution of legal disputes.

Court Security Officers

Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and administration of security matters under his jurisdiction, maintaining established security standards, managing the performance of supervisees and monitoring the deportment, appearance and conduct of persons under his/her charge; ensuring appropriate record keeping systems and procedures are maintained, conducting   visits/inspections throughout day and night and submitting daily inspection reports; briefing and advising senior officials on security matters and providing personal protection for them when necessary; conducting security awareness programmes, conducting security risk and threat assessments, conducts investigations and directing emergency evacuation activities; liaising with district emergency and support agencies such as Police, Fire, Health institutions and EHS.

  • Good understanding of Judiciary Protocol and Court Operations;
  • A thorough understanding of investigative processes;
  • Very good oral and written communication skills;
  • Team work and team leadership skills;

  • Knowledge of security technology in the use of security solutions;
  • Knowledge of the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago and regulations as they relate to the provision of security services and security administration;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years in a senior position in the protective services or a recognized security establishment;
  • A certificate in a security related course of study from a recognized  tertiary education institution;
  • Certified Security Supervisor (CSS) designation would be an asset;
  • A minimum of five (5) CXC passes including Mathematics and English; or

Any relevant combination of experience and training.
